[This VW Polo Mk. 2 achieved a 208 km/h average speed, and sustained it for 24 hours on Ehra-Lessien in 1985. I don’t necessarily wish that every Polo be this cool (the Polo R WRC is cool enough), but damn if that Polo is not the coolest one ever. The kicker? The one you see here

Those are fun cars. I used to have a daily driver 86c Polo. But 8 months and 1 week ago it met its fate as I was hit by a van on a highway and I rolled it.
I still have some upgrade parts that I didn’t have time to install. A fuel injected engine and 5 speed gearbox from the face lifted 2f Polo and exhaust headers are waiting for a new owner.
